Mid-Level Product Design and User Interface / Patent Agent . This position requires an individual with a strong academic background, substantial experience in patent preparation and prosecution, and a solid understanding of both law firm dynamics and engineering/industry practices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting patent-related matters, especially in areas involving emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, software, IOT, and quantum technologies. This role is ideal for a patent agent with 2+ years of experience who is admitted to the USPTO and has a technical background in physics, electrical engineering, or computer science.Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications related to software, AI, IOT, networking, and quantum technologies.Provide strategic guidance on patent portfolio development and management for a variety of clients in the technology sector.Collaborate with engineering and product design teams to analyze and understand complex technical concepts.Conduct patent searches, analyze prior art, and assess the patentability of new inventions.Draft high-quality patent claims and specifications that effectively capture the scope of the invention.Communicate effectively with inventors, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather the necessary technical details.Review office actions from the USPTO and respond with well-reasoned arguments and amendments.Guide product design and user interface from a patentability perspective.Assist in due diligence for patent portfolios in mergers, acquisitions, and licensing negotiations.Stay updated with the latest legal and technological trends, particularly in the fields of AI, software, IOT, and quantum technologies.Job Requirements

A minimum of

2+ years of experience

in patent preparation and prosecution.Demonstrated expertise in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for software-related technologies, artificial intelligence, IOT, networking, and quantum technologies.JD and admission to the USPTO

are required.Must possess exceptional academic credentials.Previous experience working in a law firm and/or relevant industry experience is highly preferred.Educational Qualifications

Bachelor or advanced degree in

Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science , or a related technical field.Certifications

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

is mandatory.Additional legal certifications or qualifications are a plus.Skills and Competencies

Excellent writing and communication skills , with the ability to translate complex technical details into clear, concise legal documents.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess the patentability of new inventions.Proficiency in collaborating with technical and legal teams to strategize on patent portfolio management.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of emerging technologies, particularly in the fields of software, artificial intelligence, IOT, networking, and quantum technologies.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.Preferred Experience
