Job Description
The TSLOTS Brand Design Leader will be key in developing, implementing, and executing the division design strategy for the three TSLOT locations.
The Brand Design Leader is responsible for leading TSLOTS Designers throughout Bonnell. As TSLOTS continues to grow, this role will be critical in assuring a homogeneous experience for TSLOTS Distributors. Reporting to the Sr. Brand Manager, the Brand Design Leader must align with the overall vision for TSLOTS and work closely with employees at all levels to ensure a premier customer experience.
FUNCTION SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:
Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor TSLOTS Designers, conducting regular coaching sessions focused on goal setting, development, and feedback.
Team Management:
Set clear expectations, provide necessary tools and knowledge, manage workload and overtime, and recognize team achievements.
Performance Tracking:
Develop new methods to track performance and conduct annual reviews with recommendations to the Sr. Brand Manager.
Problem-Solving:
Encourage creative solutions and calculated risk-taking to enhance problem-solving skills within the team.
Product Development:
Assist in the development of new products and ensure alignment with overall design strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Foster collaboration between design teams across different plants, ensuring consistency and sharing best practices.
Engagement:
Ensure designers are involved in plant functions such as waste reduction, risk elimination, and safety initiatives. Assist the design team in the generation of customer quotes.
Technical Alignment:
Work with plant engineers to ensure equipment and manufacturing plans are aligned and scalable.
Customer Experience:
Determine the feasibility of customer requests. Anticipate any challenges and work with production to overcome them.
Required Education/Experience:4-year degree preferred, or related technical experienceStrong understanding of manufacturing and customer serviceStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong knowledge of current design tools and softwareIndustry experience in the T-slots design preferredAbility to communicate complex concepts to any audience.Demonstrated creative problem-solvingTechnical Skills:
Change Management: Knowledge of the principles of change management within an engineering system.Design Evaluation: Ability to assess gaps in design and performance.Design Analysis: Knowledge of analytical engineering tools including critical path problem solving and root cause analysis in order to determine design feasibility and identify variation from performance specifications.20% to 30% travelCompensation:

Bonnell Aluminum is North America's premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. We manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.
We produce large diameter extrusions requiring high-quality surface finish up to 16 inches in circle size.
