About the Opportunity
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days/week in the office (Reston, VA)Are you a master storyteller? Passionate about the immense value of bringing stories to life to meaningfully connect with audiences to capture attention and stir emotions? If you answered yes, then we should talk! Ellucian is seeking a Senior Multimedia Specialist who brings an editorial mindset, passion, and creativity, along with extensive digital writing and multimedia experience to help bring our content life! Reporting to the Associate Manager, Communications, you will be an integral member of the Video Production team within the People organization. You will play a critical role in bringing the Ellucian story to life through a variety of mediums including written, video, audio, and social media. We're looking for someone with an endless flow of creative ideas - a creative who can elevate a PowerPoint presentation to modern-day storytelling and an influencer who will bring our Ellucian Life stories to candidates by championing our talent brand. Most importantly, you will help ensure our narrative is authentic and celebrates our purpose, culture of belonging, and people. Ideally, the candidate will have videography and photography experience with a track record of creating compelling, human-centered storytelling in new and innovative ways. This is a unique opportunity for a versatile multimedia storyteller that is passionate about creating compelling narratives to join a highly collaborative team at the helm of driving transformational change in a fast-paced environment.Where you will make an impactWrite and produce stories using a variety of media, including articles, video, audio and social media.Craft strategic interview questions for video or audio pieces about our business, communities, and employees.Enhance Ellucian’s ability to rapidly produce content.Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to create content that resonates with key audiences and media and can be amplified via social.Assist with scriptwriting, storyboarding, and selecting optimal forms of media for projects.Serve as on-site videographer and/or photographer and capture footage of clients, external and internal events, and conferences.Manage all aspects of video production and development, pre-production, production and post, including writing, shooting, editing, motion graphics, selection of music, and editorial.Create sizzle reels, pitch reels, case studies, marketing pieces, and day-to-day social videos for both internal and external stakeholders.Partner with editorial/marketing teams to ensure content is optimized for brand voice.Direct and capture video remotely via a remote video capture application.Create a Photography Best Practices and Tips virtual and in-person training module, plus a one-page guide, for use by program offices and staff assistants. Conduct virtual or in-person trainings. Update trainings as directed by manager.Manage and periodically update Video Style Guide for helping program offices tell their story and effectively communicate messages.Work independently, as well as part of a team to produce project deliverables.What you will bringMinimum 7 years professional experience in video production.Proven track record of creating compelling, human-centered storytelling content in new and innovative ways.A portfolio that demonstrates effective storytelling, and experience with multimedia.An entrepreneurial spirit with a strong collaborative mindset; able to both self-start and work with others to create outstanding content.Keen ability to thrive in a dynamic; fast paced environment under changing conditions to produce great work on a deadline.Strong background in creative digital photography and lighting. Experience with studio photography and event coverage, capturing corporate headshots, portraits and candid shots.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.Proficient in audio mixing, lighting, and color correction/finishing.Experience supporting executive level clients.Technical knowledge of production studio and on-location set-up to include shooting, lighting, audio equipment, teleprompter, transcription, etc.Innovative thinker who is able to apply analysis and creativity to problem-solving and solutions.A track record of working successfully in a global, collaborative setting.Familiarity with professional cameras, preproduction/planning, studio and field production, lighting/grip, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and digital still photography.Post-production expertise with digital video editing, still and motion graphics design, and video compression for multiple delivery platforms.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong independent decision-making, organizational, and planning skills.
