Job Description:
A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.Saab Inc., Autonomous and Undersea Systems division is seeking innovative and experienced Senior Designer/Drafter to work with the Engineering team on CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (aUSVs/aUUVs, AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). This position will sit in our Quincy, MA facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Work in CAD tools with 3D models as parts, components, and/or assemblies
Manage data using PDM and follow processes related to configuration management
Create and/or manage drawing templates and guidelines related to projects
Implement ANSI drawing standards
Create/modify mechanical 2D drawings and 3D Models using CAD tools
Knowledge of manufacturability and product configuration methods
May provide support to a project or own a component of a project
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Interacts with senior internal and external personnel
Normally follows established procedures on routine work; requires instructions only on new assignments
Works with moderate guidance on projects with short-term focus
Compensation Range: $74,000-$90,600
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum candidate requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of relevant experience
Experience may include comprehensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies
Desired candidate requirements:
Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent
7+ years of relevant experience
Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies
Desired Experience:
Experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T
Experience with tolerance stackup assessment
Experience in managing and tracking BOMs and drawing trees
Experience with tracking weight and center of gravity techniques.
Experience incorporating DFMA principles into design
Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
