The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Manager, Firm Recognition/Surveys to join our Firm. Within this position, you will be responsible for independently leading firm participation in directories, awards, and surveys submissions across Skadden’s transactional practices. This position will be based in our New York office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

As the Project Manager, Firm Recognition/Surveys you will:

Work with firm management to strategize, prioritize and best position the firm, practices, and attorneys for awards, directories, and other recognition globally.

Interact independently and directly with office and practice leaders and other partners to identify strategic goals and best position practices and individual attorneys for recognition.

Coordinate with marketing colleagues in Europe, Asia, and other U.S. offices on various recognition projects, including providing guidance and identifying/implementing best practices.

Write and edit award nominations and directory submissions in collaboration with practice leaders and other partners.

Develop relevant firm recognition materials for use in marketing, new business pitches, and RFP responses.

Interface and develop relationships with publication editors and researchers in connection with awards, directories, and surveys.

Work with various firm departments to gather information needed for firm and practice surveys.

Research new opportunities and analyze awards and directory participation and related marketing efforts by peer firms.

Assist in compiling peer analysis and historical recognition lists, as needed.

Work with colleagues to ensure relevant best practices, feedback, and other guidance are communicated and documented for future use.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.

Manage firm resources responsibly.

Comply with and understand firm operation, policies, and procedures.

Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Excellent writing and editorial skills

Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making ability

Strong collaborative and project management skills

Able to multitask, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure

Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems

Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Communicates effectively with external and internal audiences

Demonstrates close attention to detail

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills

Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities

Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

Ability to organize and prioritize work

Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment

Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team

Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment

Flexibility to travel

Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree

Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant prior law firm experience required, including a minimum of four (4) years’ managing directory, award, and survey submissions.

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant), and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Salary Details

$150,000 - $165,000
