Internship Summary

Senior Project Manager

The Creative Services Intern is a member of Destination DC (DDC)'s fast-paced marketing and communications team, dedicated to supporting and positioning Washington, DC as a premier global destination. In this role, your primary function is to assist the creative services team in their efforts to produce top-of-the line creative assets that promote Washington, DC.

We are looking for an organized, efficient, and deadline-centric, person who understands the fluid nature of creative work, with fast turnarounds and evolving priorities. Your Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(include the following, but are not limited to):Update Simpleview with content updates, social posts and PR mentions provided by the Marketing & Communications department in their weekly roundups distributed on Fridays.Research story ideas and questions for Trivia Tuesday and other social media posts.Attend Marketing & Communications meetings (bi-monthly department meeting, bi-monthly content-social meeting, weekly Creative, Content and PR team meetings.Attend cross-departmental meetings.Attend events, media openings etc. with the content and social team to gather content.Work as a production assistant on photo and video shoots.Tag photos in our asset management platform (IPR).Work on small design projects (email and website graphics and one-sheeters).Assist the content team with website edits.What You Bring: Experience, Competencies & EducationYou must be a junior or senior year college student in good standingPreferred major in Graphic Design or Video Production or have completed relevant courseworkProven photo/video or design production experience preferred.Demonstrated ability to prioritize resources and tasks by creating and managing project plans with long- and short-term timelinesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong relationship-building and communication skills (both written and verbal)Competency using project management tools and Adobe Creative CloudDestination marketing or hospitality industry experience, a plusEagerness to learn from a team of dynamic, engaged professionals working to promote Washington, DC and its vital hospitality and travel and tourism economy

Internship Specifics:

Duration

Spring (January 13 - May 15).You must be available for in-office work 20-28 hours per week.Hours worked must be within the parameters of Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5pm EST to coincide with the operational hours of the office.

Work Environment:

This Intern will follow Destination DC's policies for staff and may work hybrid, coming into the office at a minimum of two days a week and as determined by supervisor. Intern may work from the office on other days, too. Intern must have reliable internet to work remotely.
