POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to:

Global Media Manager

As the Media Experience Coordinator, you will schedule international media and social influencer itineraries to ensure that DDC members are central to the destination experience, which is customized based on pitching and trip themes. While based in the communications department, you will work across the M&C department to support international earned media, paid international broadcast and influencers. You will work directly with journalists and influencers, contribute substantively and develop creative trip ideas. Your Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(including, but not limited to):

Coordinate individual and group media and influencer visits as assigned.Create detailed itinerary for each incoming hosted visitObtain transportationWork with hotel partners to secure accommodations

Work with members to set up attraction passes, meals and interviewsServe as host for incoming journalists and influencersDevelop relationships with member businesses to leverage hosting opportunities in Washington, DC. Help provide subsequent coverage and ROI.Work with M&C team to brainstorm itinerary themes and contribute to creative ideas aligned with the "Only One DC" marketing campaign.Know or be excited to learn about Washington, DC's offerings across all areas of the city. Regularly attend press previews, openings and events to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings throughout DC's neighborhoods.Aid in tracking and monthly and quarterly reporting.Assist in planning and participates in events to highlight organization's programs and objectives.Manage special projects as assigned.

What You Bring: Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies

Minimum one (1) year of public relations, journalism or marketing experience (including college internship experience)Four-year degree from an academic institution in public relations, journalism, marketing or communications preferred.Hospitality industry experience a plus.Ability to build relationships and problem solve.Strong organizational skills required; attention to detail and proofreading.Willing to host journalists and work weekends and evenings as needed.Excellent oral and written skills including a command of English grammar, usage and vocabulary. Knowing other languages is a plus.Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Google Drive, Zoom and in social media channels.
