Designer I - Stormwater

We bring experiences to the forefront of everything we do and to do that takes special people.Position PurposeThe Designer I will work as part of a project team to deliver various Water Resources projects for both public and private clients. Projects include: stormwater program support, technical design support for stormwater control measures, and green stormwater infrastructure among others.Essential Functions + ResponsibilitiesDesign stormwater control measures and perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for land development projectsWork with senior engineering staff to design, model and permit innovative stormwater measures which reduce flooding and improve water quality through Green Stormwater Infrastructure TechniquesBe on the forefront of an evolving policy and engineering marketWork daily with direct team members and other disciplines including Engineers, Designers, CAD Technicians, Landscape Architects, and Planners in hybrid project teamsParticipate in field work and site visits from study or design through construction may be requiredSupport public meetings, stakeholder group sessions, staff trainings for clients, and public education eventsAnalyze and update stormwater ordinance, manuals and other regulatory documentsUse GIS to create tools for clients and for internal use to support clientsInteract with and respond to review agenciesInteract with other operational groups within the overall company structurePerform other duties as assigned

QualificationsFour-year bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field0 - 4 years of experience in water resources and environmental design experienceExcellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsSelf-starter with strong drive to better oneself, project team, and community

Excellent organizational and time management skills to facilitate accurate, efficient, and quality project deliverables

PreferencesExperience with AutoCADExperience with GISExperience with Civil 3DExperience with SCM design and modelingUnderstanding of common stormwater regulations and permitting requirementsExperience withHEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, PondPack, or TR-55EI on path to PE
