Is this the next step in your career Find out if you are the right candidate by reading through the complete overview below.RESPONSIBILITIES:Accurate reporting of news storiesAttend editorial meetings and regularly pitch original story ideasDevelops community contacts and a network of news sourcesMust be able to ad-lib live breaking news by telling a compelling story with a strong ability to interact with anchors in studioWorks with the photographer in the development of a storyRegularly updates newsroom on story elements and progressUse social media to update news and weather stories to the publicAttend station partnerships in the communityProduce and anchor weather, traffic segments for weekend newscasts and fill-in during the week as neededEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Must have undergraduate degree or equivalent related experiencePrefer 3-5 years TV news reporting and weather anchor experience in a medium to large marketREQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Must interact positively and productively with other employees and in the fieldStrong on-air presentation – must be credible, personable and passionateExcellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsStrong attention to detailMust be able to accept constructive direction and feedbackIn line with reporting duties, individual must be flexible with schedule and be willing to work additional hours or days or different shifts as required by news contentKnowledge of WSI, Baron or similar weather forecasting systemComp starting $33/hr commensurate with experience and skill level#LI-Onsite
