Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst/Software Developer
to join an exciting program in
Springfield VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION
:
Candidate will support our team as a database and software developer. The candidate’s duties will be assisting the primary developer with maintaining, updating, and identifying new sources of information in support of a small community of GIS users.
JOB DUTIES
:
Assisting the primary developer with maintaining, updating, and identifying new sources of information to a community of GIS users.
Geo-referencing images; extracting information from documents for database population.
Downloading data from various networks for ingestion into the new/existing databases.
Assisting individuals using GIS software.
Maintaining historical information on features of interest.
Providing one-on-one training and demonstrations.
Coordinating data sharing with other sites.
Reviewing/updating documentation.
Performing database configuration management functions and developing map products for the customer.
Assisting other sites with database and product development.
Developing custom functionality to ingest new datasets or provide to the GIS user.
Upgrading existing custom functionality to meet software vendor requirements.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE
:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical/STEM field and five (5) years’ experience. Additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
Candidate shall have at least 2 years’ experience producing GIS products using ArcGIS Desktop software.
US Citizen with an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI). Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/CI poly.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
:
Bachelor’s Degree in GIS.
Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.
Visual Studio experience for maintaining/upgrading C# tools embedded in ArcGIS Pro.
ArcGIS Pro experience using python to create custom geoprocessing tools.
An active Top Secret clearance with access to SCI and CI Polygraph.
Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) technical certifications desired.
