The Opportunity We’re looking for an Industrial Designer to join Curtiss-Wright Williams Controls. As an Industrial Designer, you will play a pivotal role in our design process, contributing uniquely to innovative product creation. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, with a significant portion of your time dedicated to advanced SolidWorks modeling and mechanical design.

You will create and refine product aesthetics, ensuring they align with brand standards and customer expectations. Developing ergonomic and user-friendly designs that enhance the overall user experience will be a key focus. You will also conduct market and trend analysis to inform design decisions and stay ahead of industry developments. Presenting design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders for feedback and approval will be part of your responsibilities.Additionally, you may be called on to create detailed mechanical drawings. You will also contribute to graphic design projects, creating copy and images for brochures and customer-facing presentations. This diverse role requires a blend of technical and creative skills, ensuring our products are both functionally superior and visually appealing.Generate bold design concepts through sketches and representationsDevelop 3D prototypes in collaboration with Engineering, Marketing, and CustomersStay updated on design trendsPresent ideas visually and verballyCreate branded design strategies, meet program deadlines proactivelyIntegrate branding, product functionality, and SolidWorks modelingMerge brand elements into product design, ensuring seamless functionality and precision through SolidWorks modelingTranslate customer insight into engaging designs and visually stunning product designs reflecting brand identityWhat You Bring:Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design or experience equivalent.Minimum of 5 years related experience.Bring a portfolio to demonstrate expertise in hand sketching, 3D CAD SolidWorks, 3D Rendering, Adobe Creative Suite.Strong mechanical understanding, communicate effectively with engineering teams, and excel in multi-disciplinary environments.Who We AreWilliams Controls Inc., a business unit of Curtiss-Wright manufactures products such as electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic throttle controls, configurable joysticks, adjustable pedal systems, sensors, hand controls and armrest systems for use on all types of commercial vehicles.
