Purpose:
As a Learning Design Manager you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to bring to life course and program strategies, stories and ideas. You should have a strong foundation in the science of learning, learning design, and learning analytics. You will create and lead a team of Learning Experience Designers to incubate a collection of exciting, growing, and ground-breaking digital offerings. You will create collaborative relationships with faculty, academic staff, and external parties to develop and manage new digital learning programs and support existing programs. You will report to the Managing Director, Office of Digital Education.

Responsibilities*Team Management (20%)
Manage a team of Learning Experience Designers to develop content for all Ross programs
Provide supervision and coaching of direct reports by managing workloads, ensuring consistency in processes and communication of organizational policies, providing regular feedback on individual performance, and assessing performance through the Ross Mindful Performance program
Learning Design Process Management (40%)
Develop internal and external partnerships that promote engagement with learning experiences.
Manage end-to-end development of online learning experiences, including design management, learning experience design, and iteration of learning experiences after launch.
Collaborate with the Managing Director to build a digital education strategy that aligns with the school's strategic priorities.
Collaborate with researchers in the Office of Digital Education to create research-based curricular and co-curricular digital courses and tools.
Lead learning design processes, including needs analysis, persona development, learning outcomes, course mapping, assessment design, engaging and interactive content creation, quality assurance processes, and evaluation.
Assist in developing and implementing organizational and program activities and outcomes
Develop singular educational templates and digital educational content for learners around the globe
Provide strategic learning technology direction for course development and design
Faculty Collaboration and Support (40%)
Build team to support all internal learning design
Develop learning design program to support new course offerings
Collaborate and consult with Ross faculty to create new digital courses and programs
Collaborate and consult with Ross faculty to transform pre-existing courses into new digital courses
Collaborate and consult with Ross faculty to author lesson plans that apply the science of learning and follow Ross digital Assurance of Learning initiative
Collaborate and consult with Ross faculty to transform their research into new digital assets
Lead efforts to make all Ross faculty and staff aware of learning experience design resources
Develop relationships with faculty and others involved with intellectual capital creation at Michigan Ross, gaining a working knowledge of teaching agendas
Required Qualifications*
Master's degree in related field (education, instructional design, or learning sciences)
Five years of experience in a relevant industry
Three years of supervisory experience
Demonstrated experience designing courses
Demonstrated experience in concept ideation, design, and delivery
Demonstrated experience of the higher education environment
Demonstrated experience collaborating with faculty
Demonstrated progressive experience in project management, including successful launch and implementation of new projects
Experience using educational technologies for course development, such as Articulate, PlayPosit, Yellowdig, and H5P
Demonstrated experience with Learning Management Systems such as Canvas
Modes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Additional InformationThe posting range for this position is $85,600-$115,550. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross,
it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range . Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
