Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Specialist will work on creating frameworks for training external Workday users/stakeholders using an online eLearning model. The Training & Communications Specialist will coordinate with customer support and technical application management teams and designated stakeholders to evaluate Workday training and resource needs for ongoing and emergent system changes.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate, update, and maintain training content.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify areas for improvement in training content.Develop, define, and maintain effective training materials, including frameworks for training external Workday users and stakeholders.Ensure accuracy and validity of training content by working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs).Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of online training over time and make adjustments as needed.Continuously improve training content to meet evolving business needs and ensure optimal learning outcomes.Create, update, and maintain web content.Develop, define, and maintain high-quality web content to meet the needs of the Payroll Office.Create web-based tools that align with the guidelines of the Finance, Planning, and Budgeting organization.Design and develop dependable web-based tools to support the Payroll Office.Develop project timelines and milestones and communicate progress with the manager and team.Report work progress against assigned stages and ensure timely completion of projects.Assist in managing payroll knowledge by identifying and verifying new additions/changes to the existing knowledge repository.Coordinate and ensure timely updates/changes to the Payroll Office, UW Connect with UWIT, as necessary.Support communication efforts related to major payroll activities, system enhancements/updates, and known issues.Foster engagement between the Payroll Office and the diverse UW campus community.Work with a diverse group of individuals, placing a value on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.Ensure training and cross training across business processes and systems.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSDemonstrated experience in the learning and development or training domains, preferably in a training specialist role.Knowledge regarding training methodologies, best practices, and current trends in the industry.Proficient in the use of eLearning tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Camtasia.Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including customers and key process stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity and conciseness.Experience using a proactive continual service improvement/iterative approach to meet Payroll process design requirements.Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams; respects, values, and contributes to FPB and UW’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSWorking experience designing, executing and/or managing relevant HR/Payroll system training at the University of Washington or in a comparable higher education environment.Application Process:
