We are the developer of the blockbuster Halo series of video games. As part of Xbox Game Studios, the Halo franchise encompasses games, television series, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel and more. The Hard Surface Artist will specialize in creating high-quality hard surface assets for our weapons, vehicles, props and architectural elements. This role requires a solid understanding of hard surface creation process, construction story of how objects are built in real life, and how to translate that into a AAA product. You’ll work closely with gameplay designers, riggers, animators and various other artists to deliver hard surface art. Roles at our studio are flexible, and you can work from home up to two days a week in this role.

Responsibilities

Create high-qualityhard surface assets for real-time games.

Work closely with thedirectors andleads, ensuring thathard surface quality and consistency is maintained across all gameplay content.

Actively seek out, incorporate, and provide feedback to and from peers, both internal andexternal.

Proactively identify and advocate for the team’s needs.

Help with planning and scheduling to deliver production needs on time.

Qualifications

Require d qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 2+ years experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainmento OR equivalent experience.

2+ years ofhard surface art production experience for console, PC games OR equivalent.

Ot he r Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferre d qualifications:

Demonstratedexperience with asset creation workflows for games.

Proficiency in industry-leading DCC tools such as Maya, 3dsMax, Zbrush, Fusion 360, Plasticity, Substance Painter,etc.

High attention to detail and the ability to translate 2d concepts.

Experience communicating across multiple disciplines within the team.

Deep passion and interest in or experience with outsource oversight and ingestion.

Art IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
