The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
Summary
Drives the overall communication strategy for employee audiences and sets communication direction for the enterprise including the business units and corporate functions which are both geographically and functionally diverse. Leads a team of internal communications leaders and professionals to develop communications strategies and executes complex plans that significantly influence the way the company communicates, supports change, engages employees, and helps shape the culture with the goal to enhance and continuously improve the employee experience. Possesses a winning mindset, is partnership-oriented, and has the ability to inspire a high-performing team to innovate and build for the future. Responsible for collaborating with peers to ensure communications to employees are integrated across key global audiences and aligned with Liberty Mutual’s shared aspiration.
Responsibilities
- Develops and drives the communication strategy and execution for Enterprise inclusive of global business units and corporate functions.
- Partners closely with Business unit alignment teams on the development of measurable integrated communications plans that drive the right business outcomes.
- Provides leadership and consultation with CEO and Executive Leadership team to ensure communications are aligned, coordinated, and support the culture and direction of the enterprise.
- Has foresight into the emerging and innovative solutions in the communications discipline and provides thoughtful, strategic recommendations that will take the communications efforts to the next level.
- Demonstrates the ability to create trusting partnerships and relationships across with the Executive Leadership team, business leaders, and functions.
- Understands business objectives and implements communications programs and processes to drive employee engagement in an impactful and meaningful way.
- Responsible for all communication channels and governance for the Enterprise and monitors key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication plans.
- Works cohesively and collaborates with peers in global brand and communications to ensure smooth and seamless coordination of communication processes and protocols.
- Establishes and creates alignment on best practices for cultivating a dynamic employee experience through communications and change practices. Partners with the Talent Strategy, Chief Talent Officers, and Talent Advisors to align on a comprehensive change and communications plan.
- Uses knowledge of cultural transformation to identify effective communications strategies and interventions.
- Proven track record on hiring, developing, and inspiring a high-performing team, creating an engaging environment for the communications group.
- Develops and provides coaching to, and makes compensation recommendations for, assigned staff. Defines individual performance objectives and development plans and ensures alignment with project and department objectives.
- Manages expense priorities and recommends and implements changes to the operation and its methods and protocols to ensure the team is operating efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and progressively more responsible communications experience and a proven track record of developing and executing strategies that drive cultural and organizational change at the front line and manager level.
- Minimum of 8 years managing a team of communications staff. Requires the combination of strategic planning, business knowledge, global internal communications skills, and familiarity to develop and execute a comprehensive plan to strengthen company communication with all employees globally.
