Job Summary:

  • End Client is seeking a candidate who can travel to District and Area Office locations in District 1 (Gainesville), District 2 (Tennille, GA), District 3 (Thomaston GA), and/or District 6 (Cartersville) to conduct on-premise classes several times a month and also conduct classes remotely online through Microsoft Teams.   • The role involves delivering IT training to End Client staff (adult learners) on custom-developed and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. End Client will provide training in these products. The candidate will conduct training for desktop, web, and mobile applications, collaborate with users to identify training needs, and publish training schedules/course offerings within End Client's Learning Management System (Oracle/Workday). Additional responsibilities include managing learner enrollments, scoring, certifications, and gathering feedback to improve training and IT products. The candidate will also work closely with End Client business units to boost class enrollments and meet technical training needs, including facilitating vendor or contractor-led training.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining IT training content, including creating PowerPoint presentations, IT Trainer Guides, Quick Reference Guides, User Manuals, Storyboards, Videos, and/or Computer-Based Training with the help of technical staff.
  • Preferred skills include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and/or Articulate 360/Storyline.
  • Additional duties include recordkeeping for tracking time and activities, performance metrics, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • The candidate will join the End Client's IT Training Team, composed of IT Trainers, Instructional Designers, and a Team Leader. The team provides statewide training across ~40 applications, covering transportation-related topics like contract administration, material testing, construction inspections, asset management/maintenance, and emergency operations.

  • Planning and Organization: Schedules and arranges travel in advance, effectively manages time, and confirms work priorities.
  • Travel: Willingness and flexibility to travel for scheduled on-site training.

Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to the guidelines, priorities, and objectives set by End Client Team Leaders and IT management.
  • Keeps the Team Lead updated on schedules, technical issues, and travel concerns.
  • Learns and maintains knowledge of End Client's IT applications to teach effectively.
  • Coordinates and communicates training schedules/course offerings with end users and stakeholders.
  • Conducts both virtual and on-premise training sessions, ensuring an engaging and positive learning environment.
  • Completes enrollments, attendance, and grading within the LMS, sending out surveys to gather feedback.
  • Ensures accurate recordkeeping, timekeeping, and performance indicator reporting.
  • Manages expense reports and adheres to End Client's travel reimbursement policies.
  • Updates and maintains training materials and documentation.
  • Participates in IT projects, supporting user training for new product rollouts and ongoing operations.

Work Terms and Conditions:

  • Local candidates preferred
  • Standard 8-hour workdays, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Hybrid work model is preferred, combining remote and in-office work; specifics will be discussed during interviews.
  • Candidate must comply with all applicable state and End Client policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • The role end date is set for the close of the End Client's fiscal year, with the possibility of contract renewal annually.
  • Authorized travel expenses for lodging and meals will be reimbursed according to State Accounting Office Travel Policy. Relocation or start-up travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
  • The candidate will be issued an End Client cell phone and laptop, to be used per applicable policies.
  • A personal credit card and a valid driver's license are required for work-related expenses and travel.
  • Candidate should be able to perform light physical tasks, such as setting up training rooms and transporting course materials.

Additional Position Requirements:

  • Hybrid Work Model: This position is a hybrid role requiring both remote and on-site work. The candidate's first day will be on-site, with additional on-site attendance as needed. Preference will be given to candidates residing within the Atlanta Metro area or within the State of Georgia. Please specify if the candidate has full-time residency within these areas or if they reside outside of Georgia.
  • Citizenship/Work Authorization: Preference will be given to candidates who are U.S. Citizens, hold a Permanent Residence Card ("Green Card"), or possess an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Please indicate the candidate's citizenship or visa status, specifying if they are a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, EAD holder, H1B visa holder, or other.
  • Onboarding Requirement: This position is based in Atlanta, GA, and requires the consultant to be on-site for their first day for onboarding. The consultant must travel to Atlanta at their own expense to obtain computing equipment and an ID/security badge. Please confirm acceptance of this requirement.
  • Compensation Terms: No salary increases will be offered within the first two years. Any future rate adjustments will be performance-based and contingent on budget availability. Confirm acceptance of this term.
  • Contract Duration: While the position is expected to be long-term, it is subject to annual budget constraints. The initial contract extends through the end of the current fiscal year, with anticipated renewal on July 1. Confirm acceptance of this condition.
