About the RoleAs a Designer - Decorative Accessories, you will design and develop products consistent with seasonal trends and concepts, and customer/business needs. Under the leadership of senior team members, you will own the development process for each product from sketch to approval.You will design and manage product for the Decorative Accessories categories, including, vases, trays, jewelry boxes, sculpture, wall art, garden, baskets, candlelight, and homescent for all channels. You will support the buying group's design and development needs. You will identify key trends, build seasonal concepts, collaborate on design presentations to senior management, and ensure all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met.ResponsibilitiesThrough clear understanding of design vision and business objectives, guide the design and development process from initial concept through approval. This means:Gather relevant inspiration reference based on design directionResearch market for new product ideas and competitive setCreate design renders, orthographic specs and comment forms that are clear and concise for overseas vendorsLead design presentationsAssist with setup and styling of seasonal product presentationsManage decision making daily for functional categoriesCorrespond with internal product development teams and overseas vendors to develop productsPartner with merchandising teams to guide designs through to the assortment stage

Drive workflow to the calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are met.Recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and results.Travel as needed to factories and buying shows domestically and internationallyReporting to Head Design Manager

CriteriaMinimum 4 years professional experience in related field required, home hardlines preferredDegree in design or equivalent experienceExperience with drafting and ability to quickly review and comment on drawingsKnowledge of 3D modeling and renderingProficient with Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and OutlookThis role requires being onsite in the Dumbo Brooklyn office

Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
