Fox News is looking for a Field Producer to work in the LA Bureau. As a Field Producer, you will cover major stories including breaking news, initiative stories, and special events. You will also produce reporter live shots, travel for news events, and coordinate all aspects of production. You must demonstrate through past experience that you have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with correspondents and photographers in the field.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESProduce reporter live shots and packages on location and in the LA BureauTravel domestically and internationally to cover breaking news, often at the last minute and for extended periods of timePitch and develop original story ideasNewsgathering logistics, book travel, assign field crewsCoordinate all aspects of production, including booking, writing, ordering graphics, and producing both taped segments and live shotsWHAT YOU WILL NEEDBachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience3 years of experience as a reporter, writer, producer, and/or editor at a news organizationExtensive field production experienceStrong writing skillsExtensive experience in the edit roomProduction experience in breaking news and feature reportingAbility to shoot video and operate LiveUWillingness to travel and work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays, often with short noticeValid driver’s licenseProficiency in Spanish preferredWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
