Public Relations Manager

Position Overview

Our client in the cannabis space is looking to hire a PR Manager for a short term project, starting in January 2025. They are working on an upcoming product launch with a Boston based restaurant and they need support drumming up media coverage/buzz in the local area.

This project will be 20-25 hours per week and run for 3 weeks, starting in January 2025. All work can be done remotely, but this person will need media relationships with Boston media outlets in the food/restaurant space.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective public relations strategies
• Build and maintain relationships with media professionals and influencers
• Create press releases, media kits, and other public relations materials
• Monitor media coverage and track public perception of clients
• Plan and execute press events and promotional activities
• Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to enhance brand visibility
• Respond to media inquiries and manage crisis communications as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
• Proven experience in public relations or a related field
• Strong understanding of Public Relations Strategy and Press Relations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience in the food or restaurant scene is a plus
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
