KCSO Telemundo 33 is seeking a News Anchor/MMJ/Consumer reporter responsible for the on-air delivery of daily newscasts for both the Sacramento and Fresno regions. The anchor will also have responsibility for our "Responde" consumer reporting efforts. The role requires candidate to shoot, write & edit news stories for all our platforms, including broadcast, web, social media, and OTT. The individual will work closely with producers to ensure stories are accurately written and presented on all platforms.
Qualifications- Present newscasts to the viewer in a professional manner, including breaking news, both during live newscasts, outside regularly scheduled newscasts, and on all of our news platforms, including digital, social media and OTT.
- Set up, shoot, write and edit news stories for the station's newscasts, recorded programs, and/or other live station broadcasts - either in the studio or out on location.
- Work with our consumer Responde Unit to help solve consumer issues in the Sacramento and Fresno markets.
- Write and produce stories, headlines, and news updates for broadcast and all digital platforms, including OTT.
- Present a completed story with fair, accurate and community-relevant content.
- Generate ideas and report breaking news either in the studio or on location
- Coordinate, organize, and conduct interviews
- Actively involved in sharing news content on Social Media platforms
- Follow NBC – Telemundo Social Media Policies and Standards
- Make appearances at community events, including with social and civic groups and at schools and colleges on behalf of the station
- Must be knowledgeable on daily news events, aware of past events, and understand news in the Northern & Central California markets.
- Quickly adjust to late changes and be aggressive in breaking news coverage.
- Must understand the station's mission and priorities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a television reporter; Anchoring Experience
Shooting and Editing Skills with various editing software including Edius
BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or Political Science preferred - Must have excellent writing skills in Spanish Language as well as very strong speech skills
- Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news
- Enterprise reporting skills preferred. Strong live reporting skills are necessary.
- Must be able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines.
- Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment
- Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shifts and willingness to work long hours and on weekends and holidays with short notice

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary range: $70,000 - $105,000
