Job Summary The Department of Student Media in the College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts (CARTA) is currently seeking a PantherNOW Student Opinion Director to join their team of professionals. Duties to include the following:Responsible for assigning and editing all opinion stories that appear in PantherNOW, and PantherNOW.com.Ensure all opinion content is up to date on PantherNOW.com.Ensures there is a news and opinion talk show on The Roar.Responsible for coordinating the weekly editorial that appears on PantherNOW's newspaper and website.Coordinate and assign a minimum of three Biscayne Bay related opinion stories a week.Manages the opinion department.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills.Story-telling skills.Knowledgeable in InDesign.Management and team leadership skills.AP Style writing.Excellent communication skills and responds to messages in timely manner.Ability to ask appropriate, thought-provoking questions.

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
Work Schedule 10 - 15 hours weekly, hours may vary.
Advertised Salary $11.00 per hour
