Washington Monthly Magazine ranks FIU among the top 20 public universities contributing to the public good.Job Summary The Department of Student Media in the College of Communication, Architecture, and the Arts (CARTA) is currently seeking a PantherNOW Student Entertainment Director to join their team of professionals. Duties include:Set music format for rotation shows and the style and tone for what is played on the air at The Roar.Post all feature and entertainment-related content at PantherNOW.com.Ensure there is an entertainment talk show on The Roar.Assign and edit stories for the entertainment section at PantherNOW.Coordinate and assign a minimum of three Biscayne Bay related entertainment or student life stories a week.Hire and train all entertainment writers.Hire two assistant entertainment directors to help with website, radio station, and newspaper duties.Oversee and manage the entertainment department.Attend FIU Service Excellence training.Minimum Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.Story-telling skills.Knowledgeable in InDesign.Management and team leadership skills.AP Style writing.Excellent communication skills and responds to messages in a timely manner.Ability to ask appropriate, thought-provoking questions.Work Schedule 10 - 15 hours weekly, hours may vary.Advertised Salary $11.00 per hour.Pre-Employment Requirements Criminal Background Check: This student appointment may be subjected to a pre-employment background check.How To Apply If you have not created a registered account, you will be asked to create a username and password for use of the system.
