Candidate must live within commutable distance to main corporate headquarters in Vacaville, CA.Summary The Internal Communications Specialist develops and executes communication strategies that engage, inform, and inspire employees across the organization. This role is essential in ensuring key messages are delivered effectively, fostering a culture of transparency and trust, and aligning internal communication efforts with organizational goals. The Specialist works closely with various departments to enhance employee engagement, strengthen organizational culture, and drive internal brand consistency.Profile:
Develops and implements comprehensive internal communication strategies that align with TCU's mission, vision, and strategic goals, aiming to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.Collaborates with assigned leadership and key departments to build strong relationships that support communication goals and drive organizational objectives.Acts as a liaison to craft and disseminate messages that are consistent with TCU's mission, values, and strategic priorities, ensuring clarity and alignment across all communication channels.Uses storytelling techniques to convey key messages, celebrate employee achievements, and highlight organizational milestones, reinforcing a sense of community and shared purpose.Manages and leads content creation for internal communication channels, including Town Halls, All Employee Announcements, and the Intranet, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational goals.Fosters a culture of transparency by ensuring key information is communicated across all levels of the organization, building trust and engagement.Champions the employee experience by identifying opportunities to engage and inspire employees through targeted messaging, recognition initiatives, and engagement campaigns.Supports change management initiatives by crafting and delivering clear, impactful communications that ensure alignment and understanding throughout the organization.Tracks, measures, and reports on the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, using data-driven insights to recommend and implement improvements to maximize reach and impact.Not all functions/tasks are listed above; however, those listed are considered essential.Skills:
In-depth understanding of organizational culture, employee engagement strategies, and the role of internal communications in fostering a positive workplace environment.Proven experience in supporting communication efforts during periods of organizational change, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging.Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with experience in developing content for various channels including emails, intranets, and presentations.Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and maintain content calendars and manage multiple priorities effectively.Excellent proofreading skills with an extraordinary attention to detail, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all communications.Proficiency in using a variety of communication tools and platforms to create and deliver compelling messages.Familiarity with change management principles and practices, with the ability to translate these into effective communication strategies.Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt communication strategies to meet changing organizational needs.Reporting and Experience:
Reports directly to assigned department leadership.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field; and a minimum 8 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related field; or a Master's degree and 6 years of equivalent work experience; or equivalent work experience.Provides strategic direction for the internal communications team, overseeing complex initiatives and offering mentorship.Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.Provides leadership, mentoring, and/or coaching to junior level team members.Working Conditions: Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature.Compensation: Base salary starting range: $110,510.40/annually - $136,510.40/annually is commensurate with experience.Our compensation philosophy is based on several factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.At Travis Credit Union, our priority is that our employees and their loved ones are provided with a Total Rewards program that insures their health and welfare safety which allows our employees to focus on the financial welfare of our members and the credit unions objectives.
