Miami Children's Museum is looking for a new Afterschool Studio Artist to join their team!


The Studio Artist plans, organizes, and leads art activities for children ages 5-10 at the Museum’s various offsite after-school programs. Activities/projects should introduce children to a variety of mediums and materials including but not limited to dance, STEAM, and Spanish. Studio Artists will travel to two or more After School sites during the week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and lead daily art activities for students in our after-school program.
  • Train After School instructors in the delivery of these activities.
  • Order and prepare supplies for a variety of activities.
  • Ability to work within a variety of themes to create activities that can be incorporated into the Museum's monthly programs.
  • Facilitate art-based learning for children through different art forms and mediums
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to create art-based activities with and for children.
  • Experience with art education programs for children.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Strong knowledge and ability in art.
  • Knowledge of theater and set design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an art-related field is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
