Associate Designer Job at Castlewood Apparel Corp in New York

Bernette Textile Company LLC is seeking a talented and versatile Associate Designer to support both our Womenswear and Menswear design teams. This dual-focused role offers a unique opportunity to work across gender categories while developing core design skills under the mentorship of experienced designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Designers in the development of seasonal collections for both womenswear and menswear
• Create detailed technical sketches and specification packages using Adobe Creative Suite
• Research fashion trends, fabric innovations, and competitor products
• Prepare and maintain design presentation materials
• Support the design team in seasonal color, fabric, and trim selection
• Assist in fitting sessions and provide detailed notes
• Create and update tech packs and line lists
• Regular interaction with cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 2-3 years of experience in apparel design
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Excel
• Strong technical sketching abilities
• Understanding of garment construction and production processes
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills to work effectively across teams
