Job Description
The role
As a UX Designer at Openfield, you will be responsible for creating designs with a superior level of exploration that respond to user needs and open the door to additional research learnings. You will ensure that all requirements are met during the design phase. A great UX Designer will understand how and why accessibility is imperative to successful EdTech products, and back their designs with data.
At Openfield you will work closely with the Researchers and other UX Designers to design world-class experiences for our clients. You will be supported by the UX Research and Design Leads for guidance and growth.
Requirements
- At least 1-3 years experience in UX design or related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding and working knowledge of the following:
- UX and user-centered design principles and processes
- User/usability research and testing
- Wireframe, design, and prototype software expertise
Responsibilities
- Create rich, thoughtful, accessible designs that align to users’ needs and exceed client expectations
- Understand and distill user feedback
- Utilize data to communicate rationale behind design decisions
- Ensure design solutions meet stated objectives and priorities
- Build robust prototype experiences that improve testing outcomes and the quality and depth of data gathered during testing
- Utilize documentation to facilitate communication and ensure quality from design to delivery
- Maintain a positive relationship with peers, clients, vendors, and engineering teams
- Influence digitally inclusive design and accessibility across all Openfield projects by participating in the adaptation and evolution of UX best practices
- Manage individual workload across one or more projects
- Represent Openfield as experts in the UX and EdTech space
- Contribute to the creation of Openfield content articles and case studies
- Advocate for Openfield’s process when working with clients
- Internalize research findings and relate them to client work
