This position involves leading the design and production of a wide range of digital content, including videos, animations, graphics, and interactive elements, to support the institution's instructional needs. The Multimedia Designer Lead will collaborate closely with various departments to conceptualize, design, and deliver high-quality multimedia content that engages audiences, supports teaching and learning, and promotes the institution's brand and mission.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties below are representative of the role and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed within the scope of work.Lead and manage multimedia projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards, deadlines, and objectives.Design and produce a variety of digital content, including videos, animations, graphics, and interactive elements, for instructional, marketing, and informational purposes.Collaborate with the Curriculum and Assessment Faculty, Instructional Design Faculty, and subject matter experts on the planning, execution, and delivery of multimedia projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Collaborate with Curriculum and Assessment Faculty, Instructional Design Faculty, and subject matter experts to define project objectives, establish creative direction, and provide feedback and guidance throughout the design process.Provide expert guidance on the latest multimedia technologies and creative trends to enhance content quality and engagement.Develop and manage a digital asset library, ensuring all multimedia content is organized, accessible, and properly licensed.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of multimedia content, making data-informed adjustments to strategies and techniques as needed.Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and communications, student success, workforce, and technology, to align multimedia initiatives with broader organizational objectives and initiatives.Set performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback and support to help team members achieve departmental goals.Perform other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expertise in multimedia design principles and production techniques, including video production, graphic design, animation, and web development.Proficiency in multimedia software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro), and web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and coordinate teams effectively.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including faculty and staff.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and solicit feedback constructively.Knowledge of current trends in digital media, education technology, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a higher education context.Demonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, staff and faculty.Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field, or 6 years experience in multimedia design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your creative work across various digital platforms.Demonstrated experience in multimedia design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro), 3D modeling and animation software (e.g., Blender, Maya), and other relevant tools.Desired Qualifications Master's degree in Multimedia Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual communication concepts.Experience with UX/UI design and prototyping tools is preferred.Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other web development languages.Working Conditions and Travel Calbright College is a statewide online college where all instruction and support are done via various online technologies both in person and remotely.
