We are currently seeking a Packaging Designer to join our team.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Technical role with creative opportunity to explore fun & innovative solutions to best display merchandise via market research, comp shopping and exploring trends in printing and materials
· Daily focus on packaging, technical specs and slightly routine tasks (i.e.: create barcodes, change branding on packaging templates, tracking & communication with overseas makers)
· Create detailed specs & die lines to ensure factories execute packaging quickly, efficiently and within budget
· Support product developers & design team in graphic design & design and creation of new product. If no experience in this realm, opportunity to learn the production/development process.
· Ensures that packaging follows our brand standards including quality, construction and consistency, and meets the needs of the merchandiser (e.g. dimensions, peg-ability, display, PDQ, etc.)
· Responsible to execute packaging copy as required, to give the consumer relevant information about the product
· Coordinate and communicate with off-site French/Spanish translator to ensure Canadian & US packaging standards are met
· Communicate frequently with Sales team to update them on the progress of projects
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum 1 year in Graphic Design
· Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to communicate thoughts and ideas clearly and confidently, problem solve with team members, and ensure obstacles/concerns are brought to the attention of the team lead promptly
· Knowledge and familiarity with packaging & labelling requirements as per Canadian and U.S. law (e.g. item description, type size, warnings, stuffed article labels, tracking labels, ingredient lists), as well as barcodes- creating & testing
· Knowledge of testing requirements and protocols and experience in where to find that information when needed.
· French and/or Spanish skills an asset
FULL TIME: In-office, Monday-Friday; 8:30-5pm; working remotely is NOT possible

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From $40,000 - $50,000 per year (based on experience)
