Salary:

Truspace is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual seeking a dynamic work environment in Downtown Toronto. We're looking for someone eager to join a talented, client-focused team and contribute to the design and execution of commercial high-rise, office, and workplace projects. As a Senior Interior Designer, your key role will be to understand client needs and transform them into innovative, impactful design solutions and interior fit-outs.

Key Responsibilities:


Client Meetings:

  • Lead and attend client meetings as required, ensuring clear communication and alignment between the client and project team.
  • Document meeting details and ensure timely follow-up on action items, including pre- and post-meeting communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure seamless project progression.


Design and Drawings:

  • Work closely with the Design Director to complete test fits and other design assignments.
  • Prepare and review detailed design drawings for tender, permit, and construction stages.
  • Complete necessary building code reviews on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with consultants (Architect, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural when applicable).
  • Review and audit design and drawing packages.
  • Oversee the creation and/or coordination of 3D renderings, when required, to support design presentations and client discussions.


Construction Administration:

  • Attend site meetings and conduct site visits to ensure construction is progressing in line with design specifications.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to resolve any design-related issues, ensuring client vision and project objectives are met.
  • Issue site instructions and manage responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) to address on-site challenges.


Team Communication:

  • Actively participate in scheduled huddles, including team, project, and company meetings, to maintain transparency and collaboration.
  • Foster clear communication between project consultants, estimators, and project managers to ensure project success at every stage.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Estimators to ensure proper scope alignment and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • AutoCAD efficiency required for drafting
  • Revit experience considered an asset but not required (Used for 3D modeling only)


Education and Experience

  • Competency with the current Ontario Building Code – minimum 5 years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma (3+ years) interior design or interior architecture industry-recognized accredited program
  • 5+ years post-graduation experience 
  • 5+ years commercial office design (Canadian) experience
  • IDA Registered or ARIDO Licensed an asset
  • NCIDQ & LEED accreditation an asset
  • PMI certificate an asset
