THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you passionate about lighting up immersive museum exhibits? As a Lighting Technician for Design and Production Incorporated, you’ll bring exhibits to life through expert lighting installations and electrical components. In this hourly, full time position, you’ll work hands-on in our Shop and on-site setting the stage for innovative installations that captivate museum visitors.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Manage and Test Equipment:
Oversee the receipt, shipping, testing and troubleshooting of lighting, AV and electrical equipment. Collaborate and Construct:
Work closely with Shop personnel to pre-fit and install lightning fixtures, power supplies, junction boxes and conduit into exhibits. Coordinate with Trades:
Liaise with subcontractors and other trades to ensure a smooth installation process. Fine-Tune Displays:
Ensure a quality installation meeting all specifications.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Proven skills in permanent installation and construction. Knowledge of systems such as DMX, ETC, Lutron, and Crestron. Training or experience with major lighting manufacturers such as ETC, LSI, Leviton, Strand or Color Kinetics Basic soldering and electronics repair skills (moving light repair a plus). Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Familiarity with lighting control programming and rapid prototyping. (Arduinio and Raspberry Pi experience a plus).
Required Ability to travel to site projects for installations. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Pass a background check to work on government facilities, if needed. Strong record of safety.
A Plus Knowledge of Microsoft Project or ProCore. Familiarity with Fabrication, Manufacturing or Museum Exhibits. Knowledge of carpentry and metal work skills.
