ROLE SUMMARY: We’re looking for a thoughtful, thorough, and engaged Communications Director who will serve as public relations and communications lead for multiple brands within our award-winning portfolio. This person will play an active role in brand strategy and campaign planning, and provide strategic counsel on marketing campaign development, earned media activations, proactive and reactive media stories, and more. The ideal candidate will have an interest in popular culture, sports, innovation, social media, and trends in consumer behavior, and enjoy a role that is a mix of brand communications and corporate communications. This person should understand how to get things done in a large, matrixed organization, and have experience working with national, consumer-facing brands. This individual should balance confidence with humility and seek to be a convener, both internally and externally. Our potential is only limited by how big we can dream! JOB RESPONSIBILITES: Serve as public relations and communications lead for multiple brands within our award-winning portfolio Play an active role in brand strategy/campaign planning meetings Provide strategic counsel on marketing campaign development, earned media activations, proactive and reactive media stories, and more Day-to-day lead of PR agencies; collaborate with them as part of planning process and execution of campaigns Develop communications materials, conduct interview prep sessions with internal spokespeople and staff media interviews for campaign, product launches and executive visibility opportunities Merchandise and report campaign results; track against KPIs Assess press opportunities, speaking engagements and other requests originating from agencies, vendor partners and marketing staff Manage brand PR budgets and oversee contracts with agency partners Generate ideas for signature stories for brands, marketing team and A-B Collaborate effectively with internal teams while leading agency partners Develop and execute communications plans for sizeable, integrated campaigns Provide clear and direct counsel to internal clients and teammates Move quickly and feel comfortable having autonomy to lead projects Translate our business into proactive, positive storytelling to drive our corporate reputation JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 7-10 years communications experience in-house or at a PR agency Undergraduate degree (communications, journalism, literature, or writing preferred) Experience developing and executing high profile, impactful campaigns and programs that drove earned media coverage and social conversation Excellent writing skills Experience at a company with national, consumer-facing brands is helpful Experience in beverage/brewing or another highly regulated industry would be a plus Strong media relations experience with a sophisticated understanding of social media Understand how to develop comprehensive communications plans and merchandise internally and externally WHY ANHEUSER-BUSCH: Anheuser-Busch has always dreamed big.
