Bernette Textile Company LLC is seeking a talented and experienced Womenswear Designer to join our dynamic team, creating innovative designs across classifications for both outdoor and active markets. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with creative vision to develop products that seamlessly blend function, performance, and style. They will be passionate about creating innovative, functional, and beautiful products that inspire women to embrace outdoor adventures.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development

• Design full-range womenswear collections across all classifications including outerwear, midlayers, base layers, bottoms and tops
• Plan, organize and conduct tech pack handoffs and follow up with vendors.
• Develop seasonal color stories, prints and material selections that align with brand DNA
• Work closely with technical design team to ensure optimal fit and performance across all styles
• Design products that bridge the gap between outdoor functionality and everyday versatility
• Research compelling overall print and graphic designs and artwork for t-shirts, suntees and hoodies.

Market & Brand

• Research and analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape
• Maintain strong knowledge of outdoor and active industry innovations in materials and construction
• Preserve and evolve the brand's Americana and outdoor authenticity through thoughtful design choices

Collaboration & Execution

• Partner with our merchandising team to develop seasonal line plans and product assortments
• Collaborate with material suppliers and manufacturers to source innovative fabrics and trims
• Present design concepts and collections to management as well as buyers and retail executives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
• 5+ years experience designing womenswear, preferably in outdoor/active industries
• Proven track record designing across multiple product classifications
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) as well as Excel
• Excellent sketching and illustration skills
• Strong understanding of technical materials and performance fabrics
