About the Role
The Refugee Health Promotion (RHP) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Refugee Services activities to engage community support for refugee clients. The RHP Coordinator will also supervise and coordinate all Refugee Health Promotion (RHP program activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the Refugee Health Promotion program and staff to ensure the successful implementation of Refugee Health Promotion program activities and initiatives.
- Monitoring and tracking data, documenting client experiences, and reporting.
- Collect, report, and analyze the data for RHP program initiatives and for mandatory quarterly reports.
- Assure the timely completion of Refugee Health Promotion program reports and other reports, as needed.
- Ensure case files and notes for the programming are accurate and meet the standards of program compliance. Maintain records in the Refugee Management System and ClientTrack.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with health partners and health experts to better support IM’s Refugee Services activities.
- Develop and manage relationships with community organizations to facilitate community support for Refugee Health Promotion program activities.
- Present information on the refugee resettlement program and opportunities to health partners.
- Develop, organize, and implement opportunities for healthcare communities to provide support to refugees and health applications.
- Support IM RS involvement in community refugee activities, particularly activities around health and wellness.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and recognize Refugee Services health program volunteers.
- In the context of the Refugee Health program, develop and supervise volunteer opportunities/internships in direct service to refugee clients.
- Work with the Volunteer Services staff to ensure the completion of the onboarding process (orientations, background checks, etc.) for volunteers participating in the Refugee Health Promotion program activities.
- Collect/Document monthly timesheets, monthly volunteer check-ins and additional paperwork related to Refugee Health Promotion program volunteers and RMS case note entries, as applicable.
- Conduct outreach based on the needs of the refugee population served.
- Coordinate with the Community Engagement Manager and the Refugee Health Promotion program staff in all facets of the Refugee Health program.
- Assist the Community Engagement Manager with the coordination of special projects, donation drives and special events.
- Attend appropriate meetings pertaining to the Refugee Health Promotion program and related activities.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1 Year of experience working in a health-related field and in a community setting.
- Experience with refugees and immigrants desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to quickly learn the Refugee Management System database.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of independent judgment.
- Must enjoy working with culturally and ethnically diverse staff, clients, and volunteers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to interact well with all levels and work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including late nights and some weekends.
- Must have an automobile, valid driver’s license, and automobile liability insurance.
- Fluency in one of the refugee languages (Dari, Spanish, Pashto, and Arabic) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance as required by law.
