Church Pension Group (CPG) is a financial services organization located in Midtown Manhattan. CPG was founded in 1917 to provide pension benefits to eligible clergy of the Episcopal Church. Since then, its mission has expanded to include life and disability insurance, health benefits, property & casualty insurance, and publishing.
Content & Creative Services (CCS) is responsible for creating compelling communications that support CPG's strategic plan and our three lines of business. Using traditional and digital media, CCS will give voice to our work by broadcasting key messages, developing curricula, sharing information, and helping business partners drive engagement with the products, programs, and services that CPG offers.
The Senior Writer, Property & Casualty Insurance & Publishing will be responsible for developing and producing promotional, informational, and transactional communications for publishing and property and casualty- related initiatives in support of Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI) and The Church Insurance Companies (CIC).

Currently, hybrid work environment, which requires working in CPG's office Tuesdays through Thursdays and flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Salary Range: $92,800 - $120,000

- Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration.
- Manage and prepare client-related communications
- Develop content for CPG's external communications channels (e.g., newsletters, annual reports, press releases, direct mail, email, invitations), highlighting CPI and CIC products, programs, and services
- Proofread designed materials
- Prepare conference/webinar presentations for senior leaders
- Create factsheets and related collateral materials
- Develop communications around new product offerings
- Prepare written client testimonials
- Develop byline articles for senior leaders
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Outstanding written and oral communication
- Experience writing corporate communications, line editing, copyediting, and proofreading
- In-depth knowledge of English spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax
- Working familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style and/or The Associated Press Stylebook
- Ability to think critically and to clearly communicate abstract or complex issues, ideas, challenges, and solutions
- A proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to quickly garner an understanding of CPI and CIC's businesses, their operations, and their products, programs, and services
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- BABS or combination of education and experience
- 5+ years relevant work experience
- Prior experience in the publishing and property and casualty insurance sectors preferred
