Highlights of the Payroll Manager's opportunity:
The Company: Our client is a renowned privately owned construction company who is an industry leader in their niche.
The Opportunity: The Controller is seeking a detail oriented, motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous position. There is ample opportunity to improve processes and affect change.
The Position: The Payroll Manager is a stand-alone position that will own the payroll process and will be in charge of handling weekly payroll for both union and nonunion employees.
The Payroll Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to
Individual contributor position that will manage and maintain all payroll records including salaried, hourly, corporate benefits and payroll adjustments
Process weekly union and non-union payroll for 400 employees
Process payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades. Communicate the changes and improvements company wide.
Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Responsible for weekly certified payroll reporting, union and/or prevailing wage calculations.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or Bachelor's preferred by not required
5+ years' of hands-on full cycle payroll experience.
Must have strong experience processing union payroll
Knowledge of the state and federal laws that govern reporting of wages, taxation, employee benefit administration, laws governing garnishments, withholdings from wages, taxation and reporting requirements etc.
Working knowledge of the Company's collective bargaining unit agreements for multiple union groups, including monthly reporting and payments
Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
