Controller Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years' relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/Controller role.
Sage experience = a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Superior organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Experience in the mortgage or real estate sectors = major plus.
Controller Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all accounting operational functions, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Establish and implement department policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
Prepare internal and external financial statements and oversee audits.
Manage multiple balance sheets, cash flow, and perform regular financial analysis.
Oversee the daily processing of deposits, wires, and payables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Evaluate and enhance internal control systems and accounting practices.
Develop and monitor performance metrics to drive business success.
Ensure regulatory compliance, including tax planning and reporting.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting personnel.
