Job Description
The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Specialist, Email Marketing. Working as a member of the Marketing department, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.
Join the American Lung Association’s nationwide email marketing team and be part of the digital transformation of the organization. In this role you will build the emails to deliver a constituent-first approach to email and collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure program growth. This is an entry-level position that offers growth in email marketing as well as multi-channel digital communication using leading marketing platforms. This role also offers an opportunity to earn Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications.
Location: The position is located at the American Lung Association’s Chicago, Illinois office and will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual work.
Responsibilities:
- Team player with positive attitude who can apply email best practices based on performance, industry benchmarks and evolving trends.
- Build out emails using tools in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and other supporting email platforms
- Execute email marketing campaigns in accordance with digital marketing and constituent engagement strategies.
- Participate in concept development for integrated and interactive campaigns that cultivate and strengthen relationships with constituents.
- Work within the processes, schedules, and messaging as they relate to strategic email campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to implement tactics for consumer database growth, donor acquisition and cultivation/retention.
- Help assess effectiveness of customer journeys and marketing messages by generating email performance reports
- Work with data managers to ensure audiences are updated and accurate.
- Provide suggestions and initiate actions to address complex problems with data insights and analysis
- As needed, collaborate in the creation of digital materials, email marketing content, and other related collateral.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or related degree preferred
- Strong technical skills and willingness to learn new platforms and expand technical knowledge.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred, knowledge of digital platform or CRM admin tools a plus
- Conversant in HTML preferred
- Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders and messaging schedules.
- Enthusiastic and collaborative approach to work, the ability to communicate well
- Action oriented with effective follow up.
- Highly organized with proven ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with list segmentation and audience targeting a plus.
- Previous experience with eCRM, data and analytics tools and software a plus

Compensation: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $50,000 and $53,000 per annum.
