Your Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager of User Experience (UX) who will lead a talented team of designers that drive and support the roadmaps of multiple product teams across our digital experiences.We have a large and diverse group of extraordinarily talented UX individuals, and we're looking to this leader to help establish the rituals, expertise, systems, and growth of the practice.An experienced and skilled collaborator and communicator, this individual will also form and leverage close relationships across all UX and Product team, as well as all key stakeholder groups.They'll be viewed as a trusted partner, looked-to for guidance and feedback across all initiatives in their space.

Your Impact
- Strategic Leadership: Partner with senior leaders across cross-functional teams to establish and promote alignment around design processes and methodologies that drive efficiencies and best practices for collaboration.
- Mentorship and Team Development: Provide strategic guidance to a team of designers regarding their career growth, helping them navigate complex day-to-day challenges and preparing their work for review by stakeholders and partners.
- Thought Leadership: Collaborate with design leadership to mentor the design team on best practices in design, fostering a culture of rigor and craft excellence.
- Talent Pipeline Development: Maintain and expand a pipeline of best-in-market digital talent, ensuring the team is equipped to meet evolving business needs.
- Product Improvement Initiatives: Lead efforts for continuous product enhancements by conducting research and rapidly designing iterative solutions that elevate the user experience, aligned with our design principles, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborative Workshops: Structure and facilitate collaborative sessions with cross-functional and product partners to identify and define product challenges and the most effective solutions.
- Systems-Based Design Advocacy: Champion a systems-based design methodology that supports multi-tenant implementations, ensuring scalability and effectiveness of solutions.
- User Research and Testing Oversight: Direct user research and testing initiatives, developing hypotheses, contributing to testing scenarios with the Research team, and synthesizing insights to inform design direction.
- Data-Driven Design Validation: Analyze relevant data and metrics to validate the success of implemented designs and inform future design solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to ensure the successful implementation of visual and functional enhancements.
- Presentation and Communication: Articulate design solutions to cross-functional partners, effectively communicating UX design principles and methodologies that underpin the work.
- Strategic Roadmap Participation: Actively engage in roadmap development to align strategic direction with user needs and design best practices.
- Knowledge Sharing and Team Engagement: Contribute to the design community by engaging in critiques, sharing learnings and case studies, and continuously seeking innovative ways to improve team effectiveness.
Your Experience
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent experience.
- Industry Experience: 8+ years of product design experience, with a significant focus on leadership roles.
- Tool Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma and data analysis platforms including Adobe Analytics and Quantum Metric.
- Technical Understanding: Awareness of web and app technologies and their relationship to UI development best practices across browsers, iOS, and Android apps.
- E-Commerce Expertise: Experience in e-commerce design is critical, preferably within specialty retail.
- Business and Creative Goals: Demonstrated ability to deliver on both business and creative objectives through innovative design solutions.
- Management Experience: Previous experience in a managerial role, with a focus on developing talent and driving team performance.
- User-Centric Advocate: Deep commitment to understanding and advocating for the end user.
- Design Expertise: Highly proficient in UI, visual design, and interaction design, with a sophisticated aesthetic sensibility.
- Complex Problem Solving: Proven track record of translating complex design challenges into clear, user-friendly experiences.
- Collaborative Mindset: Inclusive, adaptable, and collaborative leader who fosters team cohesion.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive Leadership: Approaches challenges constructively, inspiring the team through positive engagement.
