Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for coordinating all marketing and public relations efforts for the individual Hotel Effie business units, including overall hotel, dining outlets and spa, tying these overall into leisure and group marketing strategies for Hotel Effie.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assists the Business Units in development of marketing plans for their units within the resort.
    1. Works with the Executive Director of Marketing to implement overall hotel room night strategy for leisure and group sales
    2. Works in concert with the Directors of the Business Units to determine marketing needs and strategies.
    3. Analyzes target markets and market opportunities
    4. Defines strategies to reach the target markets
    5. Monitors and analyze market trends
    6. Comes up with creative and new ways to promote the hotel overall
  2. Manages and executes special marketing projects to include, but not limited to, video shoots, photo shoots, marketing and public relations events, press releases, email campaigns, cross promotions, and multi-media presentations. Obtains model release forms as needed.
  3. Coordinates and assists with e-mail marketing efforts to include but not limited to the following: CRM emails, monthly e-newsletter, trigger campaigns, pre- and post-stay emails, Weekly Communications, and departmental or special event e-mail marketing campaigns.
  4. Maintains an updated list of key contact information
  5. Ensures effectively branded marketing communications
  6. Supervises the Social Media Manager in order to strengthen social media outlets for business units.
  7. Provides internal communications support, including writing and execution.
  8. Works with Graphic Designer for business unit materials
    1. Provides website and ad copy
    2. Ensures correct, consistent and brand related information across all platforms
    3. Proofs all materials
  9. Serves as a point of contact for resort marketing needs and requests.
  10. Keeps receipts, invoices, etc., to provide backup documentation for budgeted expenses.
  11. Provides guest assistance and information as requested.
  12. Creates content, including video for digital and social media applications.
  13. Assists business units in the promotion of special events as needed.
  14. Maintains and updates digital display content
  15. Assists in maintaining up to date and relevant collateral
  16. Assists in maintaining up to date landing pages. Provides content to Graphic Designer and updates the pages
  17. Imports contacts received from each Business Unit into to HMA and makes sure lists are updated.
    1. Manages advertising
    2. Plans creative content and email campaigns
    3. Analyzes the effectiveness of marketing efforts and advertising placed
    4. Writes ads, materials, posters and other promotional material
    5. Supplies Graphic Designer with proper information for requested pieces
    6. Assists with layouts and copy for material, including direct mail pieces, emails and menus
  18. Assists with budgeting and manages monthly forecasts
  19. Other duties as assigned.

Strong working knowledge of:
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Canva
  • YouTube and Apple technology
  • Social media including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other emerging social media networks.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and be resourceful with limited direction.
  • Ability to write in accordance with AP style, edit and proofread.
  • Ability to work positively with team members.
  • Ability to make presentations and speak in front of groups.
  • Knowledge and ability to learn new technology.


Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions listed above, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
  1. Helps train and provide direction to Social Media and Marketing Coordinator.
  2. Assists with the proof reading of all major marketing projects as needed.
  3. Regular attendance at professional organization meetings, conferences, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in public relations or marketing is required.

Other Qualifications

Flex Time

A flextime arrangement may be suspended or cancelled at any time, and it is up to the discretion of the Department and Division Head. Flextime is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Exempt employees must depart from any flextime schedule to perform their jobs.

Language Skills

Must be able to fluently speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical mobility to move between locations, including climbing stairs and traversing outdoor terrain.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and carry equipment for extended periods during photoshoots.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of marketing materials or photography equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Dexterity to handle camera equipment and technology for on-site shoots and events.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed during photoshoots or event setups.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
