Description Questions Job Description The Fifth Judicial District of the Iowa Judicial Branch is seeking qualified candidates for immediate Court Reporter openings. The position will include travel within the fifth Judicial District, some positions requiring more than others, and may be assigned to work with any Judicial Officer as needed. Compensation includes base salary plus transcript income and State of Iowa benefit package. Starting salary dependent upon relevant courtroom experience. The starting salary for new State of Iowa Judicial employees is expected to be at the base of the pay range. The pay range is $59,321.60-$96,803.20 annually. Judge Franklin, District Associate Judge (Wayne County - 111927) Hon. Judge Lauber, District Judge (Polk County - 111952 part-time) Hon. Judge Brackey, District Associate Judge (Polk County- formerly Belcher) Hon. Judge Kemp, District Judge (Polk County- formerly Hanson) Hon. Judge Cox, District Associate Judge (Polk County) Hon. Judge Faith, District Court Judge (Dallas County- formerly Hefner) Hon. Judge Howe, Juvenile Court Judge (Polk County) Hon. Judge Beattie, District Judge (Polk County) Responsibilities: Job duties include but are not limited to: Captures court testimony and proceedings with stenography machine. Reads back court testimony and proceedings upon request. Prepares transcripts, performs general office work. Marks and records exhibits during court proceedings. Performs related work as determined by Judge, Chief Judge or designee. Electronic document filing required in all counites within District 5. May be required to work for any Judicial Officer in the 5th District per operational needs. Minimum Qualification Requirements Graduation from high school (GED); graduation from a school of court reporting with courses including legal and medical terminology, English, typing and law.
