Position Overview | The Big Picture

The Hospitality Interior Designer is responsible for designing cutting-edge interior spaces and exterior facades for permanent hospitality projects. This position is a key contributor to some of the most unique interior renovations in the hospitality industry. The Hospitality Interior Designer reports to and receives direction from the company's President and may receive direction from the Chief Creative Officer, the Product Designers, and the Hospitality team.

Creates cutting-edge designs for hospitality spaces in collaboration with the President and Hospitality Design team. Researches and sources materials, products, furnishings and finishes for hospitality projects and related custom builds to achieve design aesthetics and meet pricing and budgetary expectations. Adheres to overall project timelines and milestone goals to ensure projects move along according to established deadlines and expectations. Collaborates with the President and the Hospitality team to establish production, construction, and installation timelines to ensure projects are completed on time Supports the design process by overseeing designs to provide consultation related to potential build considerations and obstacles in collaboration with the Project Manager. May assist in custom build design. May provide alternative design component options based on budgetary guidelines. Creates design and site renderings, and floor plans to support the design, construction, and installation process. Makes good decisions and solves any problems effectively to achieve successful results. Participates in client meetings as needed. Acts as a liaison with the client to ensure the client's needs and expectations are met and communication is timely and accurate. Provides excellent internal and external customer service with a positive attitude, tact, and diplomacy. Tracks arriving products with the Project Manager, Processing, and Receiving departments to ensure components arrive as expected and within established timelines. May attend design and tradeshows to research and purchase new products. Continually researches design trends to ensure designs are innovative, cutting-edge, and on-brand. Complies with all department and company safety guidelines, procedures, and rules. Mentors safe work practices to co-workers and team. Completes all safety training as directed and within established timelines. Interfaces professionally with all people, internal and external, in a kind and respectful manner. Tracks and enters time and assigns hours and tasks to appropriate events and jobs in the time and attendance system. Completes all Human Resources and Payroll tasks and notifications through the Employee Self-Service Online Portal every week, as directed and within established timelines. Assists in other departments as needed and directed. May perform other duties as required. Qualifications | What You Need to Bring

3-5 years of Interior Design experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field. Established portfolio of design work. Highly creative, imaginative, and artistic. NCIDQ Certification preferred. Proficiency in computational design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Revit, or similar design software. Excellent computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency. Excellent project management skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and good follow-up skills. Excellent decision-making skills. Takes ownership of projects. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Excellent interpersonal, tact diplomacy, and conflict management skills. Excellent customer service skills related to internal and external customers. Excellent communication skills and the unique ability to communicate artistic vision. Excellent ability to deal with pressure, competing demands, and deadlines. Some travel is required.
