POSITION DUTIES

The Neighborhood Development Officer for the West North Avenue Development Authority is the lead position, under the direct supervision of the Chief Planning and Development Officer for supporting the planning and implementation of community empowerment, social connectivity and enhancing quality of life through improvements in neighborhood conditions. The position also serves as the point person for the agency to neighborhood associations by serving as their liaison to State of Maryland and Baltimore City agencies on neighborhood development, preservation and beautification issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

● Develop collaborative partnerships with neighborhood associations, advocacy groups, and public officials to effect change through equitable State and City investments for community empowerment and social connectivity. ● Organize and lead community meetings, workshops, and outreach programs to promote community development activities with neighborhood associations. ● Participate in the review and recommendation of grants and financing awards to ensure coordinated alignment with the comprehensive plan.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Political Science, Public Administration, Community Planning, Economics or other relevant studies. A Master’s degree in business administration with a focus on Economics, Finance or Real Estate, or Master’s degree in Public Administration or Urban Planning.

Experience: 7 years of professional experience in community engagement, public relations, urban policy and planning.
