Job Summary: As an Internal Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company mission, vision, and values are articulated by communicating and engaging our Team Members. The Internal Communications Specialist plays an integral role within the Corporate Internal Communications team, working across departments to collaborate and communicate timely information for a variety of Human Resources and business initiatives, including but not limited to operations, talent development, benefits, compensation, engagement, and payroll. The team communicates information through a variety of channels, including our intranet that connects 50 properties and 55,000 Team Members across the organization. Job Responsibilities: Be a key contributor to the companywide internal communications platform, Empire Wire. Develop and execute internal communication strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. This includes creating flyers, posters, newsletters, emails, memos and presentations through graphic design or other forms of visual storytelling. Create compelling and engaging content for internal communication channels such as newsletters, intranet, and email. Create digital content beyond text using Canva and InDesign to help craft a visual story. Ensure all communication is clear, concise, and consistent across all channels. Collaborate with different departments to ensure communications align with their objectives and priorities. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as needed. Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field. Strong digital storytelling experience. Newsroom experience working on a print or broadcast website is a plus. Understanding of AP Style writing. Experience in internal communications, preferably in a corporate setting. Excellent writing skills are necessary. Experience authoring stories and compelling headlines to drive culture and engagement. Experience using Canva, InDesign, or similar design programs to create visually moving graphics that help tell a story. Successfully project manage workload - MUST be able to organize and prioritize work within a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate with different teams and stakeholders. Problem-solve and make decisions with the best interest of the company and its Team Members in mind.
