Our marketing team in Santa Clara is looking for a passionate individual to join our team and help us bring our AI vision to life.
Working across all of our AI vision processing market segments-automotive, security, consumer, and IoT/industrial/robotics-the Technical Writer and Copy Editor will interface with the marketing and engineering teams in the US and Asia to obtain key source material. From there, he/she is responsible for editing, combining, organizing, formatting, and streamlining the source material into clear, effective documents that adhere to Ambarella's style guide and engage target audiences. In time, he/she will have the potential to move into technical writing and be responsible for updating existing documentation such as datasheets and API documentation, in addition to SDK materials as product changes occur.

The base hourly range is $51.00-$58.00. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to convert to a full time regular position.

Expectations:
- Proofread and edit documents in Microsoft Word
- Proofread and edit documents in Adobe InDesign
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of experience in technical copy editing/documentation
- Experience in editing technical material written by non-native English speakers
- BA/BS in English, Communications, Computer Science, EE, or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Expert in MS Word/Open Office and PowerPoint
- Experience with Adobe InDesign
- Writing/editing samples from previous work-including technical material/instructions with consistent formatting and typographical conventions-that demonstrates engaging headlines and subheadings, proofreading, and comprehensive editing for spelling, grammar, and brand consistency
- Must work on-site in our Santa Clara offices at least 3 days a week.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working for a semiconductor, systems, or software company deploying SDKs to multiple customers is a plus
- Experience documenting APIs
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Highly detail-oriented, multi-tasking, self-motivated individual with the ability to take pride and ownership over tasks while taking the initiative to complete both planned and last-minute projects
