LIVE AUDIO TECH & SOUND SYSTEM ENGINEER

Flyspace Productions is a full-service, woman-owned event management and production company. We produce some of the largest festivals and live events in the region, in addition to numerous private, corporate, and community events. We provide our clients with support from a full-service, in-house Production Department that provides technical equipment including concert audio, lighting, truss, and rigging, as well as the largest fleet of Stageline Mobile Stages on the East Coast. Our Creative Department provides exceptional expertise in festival production, event planning, brand activations, and fine art installation.

The Audio Technician is a member of our Production Team. The role requires extensive knowledge of installing audio systems in temporary, often outdoor, venues, in addition to indoor concert venues. The ideal candidate has previous experience with national-level artists and corporate events. The majority of this work will take place in Pittsburgh, PA with occasional travel as needed to show sites in the region.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in live event audio production, with concert audio production experience.
  • Professional understanding of the artistic process and the ability to work closely with clients, including artists, performers, and designers, in a diplomatic way.
  • Proficiency in the following systems:
    • Dante Level 2
    • Waves SoundGrid
    • Line Array System Deployment Software
    • Shure Wireless Workbench
    • AVID, Digico, and Yamaha digital mixing consoles
  • Ability to lead crews of stagehands with a variety of experience.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in theater, events, concerts, or other production environments.
  • Knowledge of best practices in packing technical equipment into box trucks.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of production cabling, and best practices in cable wrapping.

Work Setting & Physical Exertion:

  • Position requires regular exposure to outdoor elements and loud noise.
  • Position works with electrical components.
  • Incumbent will be required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Incumbent will be required to travel to work sites as needed.
  • Incumbent must be able to read, see, hear, and speak.
  • Incumbent must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and climb stairs
