The Visual Arts Specialist provides leadership, instruction and motivation for visual arts program participants. Provide a quality experience to students and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Key Responsibilities:
- Share your passion for arts with others.
- Provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for program participants in visual arts classes.
- Work with the Program Director to develop lesson plans with a natural progression that relate to the abilities and ages of the classes being taught.
- Plan, develop, and lead quality visual arts programs for students of all ages and abilities, beginning through advanced levels.
- Assist the Director with visual arts exhibitions and prepare students and student work for the exhibitions.
You'll alsobe able to use your skills to teach classes like:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Preschool Arts
- CeramicsAND MORE!!
Are you a good fit?
- 10+ years of technical visual arts training or comparable professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in visuals arts as a teacher and/or teaching assistant.
- You have the knowledge and skills to instruct beginning and intermediate level art classes. Multiple art disciplines preferred.
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- You are committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
