Job Responsibilities
The Director of Visual Storytelling will lead Lander's digital content team within the Office of University Marketing and Communications. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President, this role will focus on creating and overseeing modern, trendy video and photography content that resonates with a college-age audience, particularly on social media platforms. As the Director, you will manage a team of content creators, ensuring that we effectively "tell the Lander story" in alignment with our strategic plan.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree in photography, videography, media, digital communications, marketing, or a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in videography and photography content creation, preferably with a focus on marketing for digital platforms. Strong customer service skills and a commitment to ethical practices. Valid driver's license and a safe driving history are required.
Additional Comments
Knowledge of various cinematography techniques, equipment and software to enhance storytelling. Familiarity with pre-production, production, and post-production workflows, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, and scheduling. Knowledge of narrative structure and how to convey emotions and messages through visual media. Awareness of current trends in photography, videography, and digital media, especially those appealing to a younger audience. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Strong management, prioritization, and delegation skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
