Who we are looking for

Purpose

The Senior Manager, Brand Communications, US AIR and CARE, will take the lead in transforming how the world sees Chiesi’s AIR and CARE portfolios in the United States, by elevating awareness of our legacy, innovations, and critical disease states. This role offers a chance to shine as the primary communication expert on the AIR and CARE Business Unit teams. You will craft and execute bold, creative, and insights-driven communication strategies that set industry standards and drive our business objectives. Shape the narrative around Chiesi’s impact in asthma, COPD, pulmonary arterial hypertension, neonatology, and neurology, with potential for more areas as we grow. Lead our media relations efforts, build strong relationships with journalists, and serve as the authoritative voice for Chiesi’s US AIR and CARE businesses. Main Responsibilities

Lead Communications for US AIR and CARE:

Serve as the communications lead for US AIR and CARE. Understand Chiesi’s AIR and CARE businesses and represent the communications function on cross-functional brand teams. Provide expert counsel and execution on communications opportunities, initiatives, issues management, and internal communications. Advise AIR and CARE US business units and leaders, ensuring creative proposal development and flawless execution. Manage communications agency partner teams.

Execute the Communications Strategy & Build Future Plans:

Execute the 2025 communication strategy for AIR and support planned communications initiatives for CARE. Develop integrated communications strategies for AIR portfolio launches and contribute to integrated brand strategy plans for CARE. Oversee and implement tactical program execution (medical meeting communications, data and milestone announcements, disease awareness initiatives, etc.) with business unit communications agencies, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time and within budget.

Lead Business Unit Communications Content Development:

Develop content strategy plans and communications materials for the US AIR and CARE business units in collaboration with cross-functional partners (commercial, medical, R&D, value and access, etc.). Manage the material review process with reviewers.

Manage Media Engagements for the Business Units:

Cultivate relationships with journalists and serve as the spokesperson for the AIR/CARE business units in the United States.

Measure Results, Report Impact, and Adapt:

Establish and implement measurement frameworks for BU communications initiatives in partnership with integrated BU teams and Corporate Affairs. Report results and recommend adjustments based on progress toward measured outcomes.

Budgetary Management:

Manage the brand communications budget and execute tactics within budgetary requirements. Propose and manage financial resources to support programming defined in annual strategy recommendations.

Experience Required

Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication, networking, and interpersonal skills; ability to establish, build and enhance relationships of trust with a wide range of stakeholders.

Track record of creative thinking grounded in data and insights to drive measurable results in motivating stakeholders to action and building trust in communities

Experience executing integrated, multistakeholder targeted communication strategy with clearly defined metrics aligned with business needs.

Experience in media relations and knowledge and passion for emerging communications channels and trends.

Experience collecting and applying insights from both qualitative and quantitative assessments.

Demonstrated skills in creative, strategic planning grounded in market insights analysis, program management and execution.

Ability to work collaboratively across all functions and levels of influence both internally and externally.

Demonstrated passion for supporting patients and underserved communities.

Based in or willing to relocate to Cary, NC

Willing and able to travel (approx. 20%), primarily domestically but potentially internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 or more years of agency or in-house pharmaceutical communications experience

Previous pharmaceutical launch brand experience

Understanding of US drug research and development, regulatory, compliance and disclosure guidelines

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of experience working in public relations, communications, journalism, advertising, or marketing.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, mass communications, public or related fields; advanced degree a plus.
