Job Description

As an Advisor - Events Planner, you will be a key player in orchestrating events that bring our partners' visions into reality. You will coordinate with three territory office team, Divisional Leadership, enterprise employees, and global donors of ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Your role will involve collaborating with enterprise stakeholders to craft iconic St. Jude Signature Events (Galas, Golf, Dinners) using industry best practices. These events will result in seamless and engaging experiences that delight the five senses and deepen the connection with the St. Jude mission.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership: Oversees logistics for St. Jude Signature Events (Dinners, Golf and Galas).

Collaboration: Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to create an event experience that is engaging, entertaining, and mission-centered.

Expense Management: Manage expenses and develop creative cost savings measures.

Problem Solving: Address highly varied, complex, and often non-recurring problems that require novel and creative approaches to resolution.

Policy Adherence: Perform duties within the scope of general ALSAC policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyze problems and perform needs assessments. Use judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve the desired result. Make recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices. Refer exceptions to policy and procedures to the supervisor.

Event Management: Provide strategic event resources for logistics management of internal/external events and meetings for small to medium groups of donors, staff, volunteers, patient families, and guests. Responsible for the event design, dcor, food/beverage, and vendor management for mid to high-tier events. Collaborate with Marketing to secure branded St. Jude collateral.

Research & Negotiation: Conduct market research, gather information, and negotiate. Use project management skills to complete projects in a timely fashion and within budget.

Efficiency: Responsible for researching, analyzing, and recommending efficiencies to support cost savings.

Customer Service: Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day. Liaise with clients/committee members to identify their needs and make recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years relevant experience required.

* Intermediate experience in Microsoft tools (Excel & PowerPoint) required.

* Seating and auction software experience preferred.

* Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) preferred; Event Professional Certification helpful.

* In lieu of educational requirements may substitute 7-8 years related work experience.

* Travel: 30%
