The Sales & Marketing Director (SMD) will be instrumental in driving the sales of primary processed, frozen seafood. This leadership role involves developing and managing relationships with international and domestic secondary processors, expanding into retail and wholesale channels, and crafting and executing strategic marketing initiatives. The position offers an exciting blend of leadership, relationship management, and hands-on involvement with product quality and compliance. Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with secondary processing customers, primarily in Asia. Negotiate and close deals with existing and new accounts, ensuring consistent sales growth. Identify and penetrate new geographic markets for secondary processors, retail, and wholesale accounts. Oversee order fulfillment, collaborating closely with fishing vessels, operations, and finance teams. Analyze sales trends and communicate insights to senior management. Manage sales analysts to ensure accurate invoicing and timely collections. Act as the subject matter expert on food safety, health requirements, and export regulations. Oversee Quality Assurance programs on fishing vessels, resolving quality issues efficiently. Collaborate with industry marketing programs to maximize impact. Travel domestically and internationally, averaging 2-3 weeks per quarter. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, economics, food science, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of professional wholesale seafood sales experience. Proven expertise in selling to the Asian marketplace, with existing contacts preferred. Working fluency in English and at least one of Chinese or Japanese (both preferred). Strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills. Experience traveling to China or other Asian regions is advantageous. Ability to adapt to changes and perform other duties as required.
